Baseman is creator and executive producer of the critically acclaimed animated television show for ABC/Disney "Teacher's Pet". Teacher's Pet recently won the Emmy award for Best Daytime Animated series for the second year in a row and a British Emmy (BAFTA) for best International Children's Programming. Baseman also was rewarded this year an Outstanding Individual Achievement Emmy for Production Design on this animated series.
Mr. Baseman best describes his work where the line between genius and stupidity has been smudged beyond recognition. His mark appears in magazines & newspapers such as The New Yorker, Time, The New York Times, Rolling Stone, Forbes, Blab, Reader's Digest, and The Atlantic Monthly. Even the corporate world has been smeared by Baseman’s drawings.The range of international corporate clients include Nike, Chili's, Gatorade, Celebrity Cruises, Mercedes-Benz, Labatt, Thomas Cook, IPIX and Capitol Records. Baseman's images also create the identity of the best selling game "Cranium," which won Game of the Year for an unprecedented two years in a row at Toyfair.
His work is in the permanent collection of the National Portrait Gallery in D.C. and the Museum of Modern Art in Rome. He has also lectured at the School of Visual Arts in New York, the Royal College of Art in London, and Art Center in Los Angeles. Entertainment Weekly Magazine recently named Baseman as one of the Most 100 Creative People in Entertainment. He was born and is back in Hollywood, after doing a ten year stint in NYC. Starting April 25th, 2013, the Skirball Cultural Center in Los Angeles will install a major career retrospective, My Door Is Always Open, that will run for six months.
