When Dark Horse editors were trying to figure where to run the new Meanie Babies story, master wit Sergio Aragonés suggested showcasing the unseemly critters in an all-new book. Further brainstorming yielded an idea that was nothing short of raunchy -- gather some of the best cartoonists around and concoct a comic book devoted entirely to foul bodily functions. The result of this intellectual devolution? -- Guff!

Guff! is a compilation of some of the grossest (and funniest!) humor comics ever stuffed into one vile volume. Sergio lends his audibly flatulent friend Timotéo to the mix, Jay Stephens introduces Icky Animal, Pat McEown showcases his putrescent pukers Max and Skeeter, Dave Cooper introduces the insipid Pip, and John Pound and Jay Lynch bring the first-ever Meanie Babies comic to ghastly life with a special three-page story. In addition to being remarkably gross, this comic is also the only chance Meanie Babies collectors have to collect the entire set as a rare Meanie Babies card is included in each comic.

"Expect each story to be unique since none of these guys saw each others' strips or many of the Meanie Babies cards before getting to work," notes the book's editor, Scott (Stinky) Allie. "We've got Sergio, who's a giant of the industry, a real living legend, and these three young Canadians who have been doing some of the most beautiful and outrageous humor comics of recent years. And the team-up of Jay Lynch and John Pound should excite anyone with a sense of undergound-comics history."

Guff! is a unique one-shot comic in flip-book format (one cover by Sergio, and on the flip side, a painting by John Pound). This 24-page, black-and-white special also features a rare inserted Meanie Babies card, and a three-page Meanie Babies story. This odiferous effort will be ripe on April 29, at the anything-but-stinky price of $1.95.
