Dark Horse to release final chapter of Manabe's Outlanders

In the grand tradition of epic manga storytelling, Dark Horse is preparing to publish the eighth and final collection of Johji Manabe's landmark science-fiction fantasy saga, Outlanders.

The omnipotent ruler of the Santovasku Empire, after laying waste to the planet Earth in a raging, relentless attack, is about to meet his match--in his very own daughter! Kahm has witnessed much of her father's destructive reign of terror, but she can't stand by any longer without taking action. Kahm's devotion to her Earthling love, Tetsuya, can not be relinquished despite her father's war against Tetsuya's home planet, and she's being forced to make a choice she never wanted to face--live under her father's terrifying grip for the rest of her life, or take action against him and risk laying waste to her home world, the Imperial Planet of the Santovasku.

Who will live? Who will be destroyed? Can love conquer all? The answer to these questions --as well as the rare Outlanders Epilogue and the Outlanders Special: Battia's Bane--can be found in the 176-page conclusion to the Outlanders saga. Look for the long-awaited, black-and-white Outlanders Volume 8, on sale February 9 for $14.95.

"Skuld, you'll be a woman soon". . .

There isn't much a Goddess can't do, but when it comes to trying something new, there's often nobody as stubborn as a minor deity--especially a young Goddess like Skuld!

Skuld knows her older sister Belldandy has a great time riding her bicycle, and while she's enchanted by the "technological artifact" her sister rides, she's too worried about getting hurt to give it a shot herself. If only she were inspired by something other than her sister's urging, she might give it another shot. So guess what happens when Skuld meets a bike enthusiast who just also happens to be a really nice--and cute--boy?

Oh My Goddess!: Childhood's End is a new two-issue miniseries from one of America's favorite manga creators, Kosuke Fujishima. Issue one of this feisty black-and-white series features 40 pages of great manga storytelling and retails for $3.50 starting January 5.
