In 1948, Al Capp introduced the Shmoo in his popular "Li'l Abner" strip and it truly took the nation by storm. The Shmoo was a lovable tub of glub whose bewhiskered smile was as cute as his button eyes. The Shmoo bred with a speed that would put rabbits to shame, consumed essentially nothing, and provided most everything that humankind could wish for. Besides producing both milk and eggs, its meat was pork when roasted, chicken when fried, and steak when broiled. During its heyday the Shmoo inspired one of the first true licensed-product bonanzas, appearing as a cornucopia of products that spawned as fast as the Shmoos themselves.
Dark Horse is adding to these vintage pieces with a brand-new version of the little rascal.
