Batman and Tarzan are both orphans who have dedicated their lives to protecting their respective homelands. Now, a new evil has surfaced -- one that unites the two fearless warriors in a fight against darkness. But will the guardian of Gotham's urban jungle be able to adapt to the laws of Tarzan's jungle? He'll have to, if he wants to see justice served! Batman/Tarzan: Claws of the Cat-Woman collects the comic-book series, co-published by Dark Horse and DC, that brought these two legendary heroes together for the first time.

Beginning with a mysterious female cat burglar, an archaeologist with the familiar name of Dent, and trouble in Gotham, Batman and Tarzan are drawn together in an adventure that takes them from the streets of the big city to the wilds of deepest Africa. Battling crocodiles, an army led by a greedy madman, the temptation of love, and even each other's conflicting crime-fighting codes, our two heroes find themselves embroiled in a fight not only for justice, but for their very lives.

Ron Marz, writer for the series, was enthusiastic about the pairing of two of America's greatest heroes: "Working on Batman/Tarzan was very literally a dream job. I got to tell the first meeting of a pair of characters who are probably the foremost icons in American fiction, and they went together so naturally the story wrote itself. It was also a dream job in terms of working with Igor Kordey, who was absolutely the perfect artistic choice for the kind of pulp story we were telling. It's by far one of the favorite projects I've ever worked on. Don't tell anybody, but I would've done this one for free."

With a painted cover by Igor Kordey, Batman/Tarzan: Claws of the Cat-Woman is a full color, 96-page collection on sale August 16, for $10.95.
