The authors involved are: Steve Bissette, who has masterfully written both prose -- Aliens: Tribes -- and comics -- Tyrant, as well as the groundbreaking Swamp Thing with Alan Moore; Gordon Rennie, writer of Kitchen Sink's White Trash and frequent contributor to DHP; novelist Ed Gorman, whose work, including Cage of Night, has been lauded by seminal horror writers such as Dean Koontz and Robert Bloch; and Stephen Blue, writer of KSP's forthcoming The Awakening.
The story the quartet of writers has crafted focuses on a new alien/human hybrid -- this one a male. The first hybrid, a female named Sil, was exterminated in the Species motion picture. Now Kal continues Sil's mission; to populate the earth with his deadly species. Two government agents track him on his trip across America, as the creature attempts to plant his seed of destruction in small towns across the nation.
The team of writers is joined by an equally acclaimed line-up of artists, including Phil Hester (Swamp Thing, The Crow), Dean Rohrer (Duplex Planet), and Mark A. Nelson (Aliens, Death Rattle). John Bolton (Aliens) will provide one of the covers, as will Nelson and Bob Eggleton (Godzilla). Species: Human Race is a four-issue miniseries; the first issue ships November 22 and retails for $2.95. It is suggested for mature readers.
