Madman creator Mike Allred's original series Red Rocket 7 did for comics in the '90s what rock and roll did for music in the '50s -- it broke all the rules and opened doors to new creative possibilities for subject, form, and content. It also kicked ass all over the establishment. In July, this ground-breaking series is being collected in its entirety as a trade paperback, so the epic tale of the original Red Rocket and his flight from the Enfinites will be available in a single volume.

In the mid 1950s seven mysterious beings showed up in coastal Oregon. These men were identical in every way, except in their individual talents, and the one called Red Rocket 7 would go on to make musical history with the biggest names in rock and roll. Seven holds his own with the best of the best, from Elvis and the Beatles to Bowie and Nirvana, but there's more to his story than the rock and roll lifestyle. The otherworldly Enfinites are in relentless pursuit of the seven brothers, and the incessant attacks take a tragic toll on the brothers and the lives they've attempted to make for themselves on this strange planet.

"Red Rocket 7 is now in its intended form as one completed volume," Allred said. "This is my favorite work I've ever done, and this is how I always meant for it to be presented since I first conceived of the idea."

"One of the things Mike's fans got excited about with this series was the possibilities the collection had to offer," added Allred's editor, Jamie S. Rich. "Mike's collected books are always much more than the sum of their individual issues -- he always makes them an event."

The Red Rocket 7 trade paperback collects all seven issues of the original series and includes an all-new, 16-page gallery of rock and roll portraits by Allred. This unique 208-page, full-color volume measures 10" x 10", and is available July 8 for $29.95.
