P. Craig Russell is well-known to longtime comics fans -- his work on such masterpieces as Killraven in the 1970s quickly earned him a reputation as a cutting edge creator. His work in the 1980s and 1990s, on such series as Dr. Strange, and Sandman, kept him in the upper elite of comics artists. But as much as you may believe you know his work, his latest release, Elric: Stormbringer, will come at you from left field.

Elric, the albino prince of a dead race, is perhaps the greatest of Michael Moorcock's creations. He is well-known to fantasy fans, having appeared in short stories & novels since the early 60's, and making his earliest comics appearance in Conan the Barbarian #14 & #15. And the novel which Russell adapts in this series, Stormbringer, is generally regarded as the greatest of the Elric novels. Yet, still, this series will also take Elric fans by surprise.

"This stuff is total insanity!" said Mike Mignola, Eisner and Harvey Award-winning writer/artist of Hellboy. "I couldn't dream this up if my life depended on it. Craig is one of the true living masters."

"P. Craig Russell is one of the zen masters who dazzles you with inspired, poetic brilliance and pisses you off by making it look so easy." says Harvey and Eisner award winner Kevin Nowlan.

Dark Horse is co-publishing Elric: Stormbringer with Topps. The series will run seven issues, the first of which will be in stores February 28. Each issue will retail for $2.95. Horror and heroism, sword and sorcery combine in P. Craig Russell's finest work yet, this adaptation of the greatest Elric epic of them all.
