>On July 31, 1996, Dark Horse Comics will debut a new Star Wars series. Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi -- The Golden Age of the Sith #0 is a 99cents prequel to the forthcoming five-issue miniseries (priced at $2.50), which is scheduled to premiere in October.

This 16-page comic was written by Star Wars: Jedi Academy novelist and Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi comics author Kevin J. Anderson. Anderson is also known for numerous best-selling novels, including The X-Files: Ground Zero, which sold over 200,000 copies in hard cover.

"With a 99cents introductory comic and the ever-increasing interest in Star Wars, this latest Tales of the Jedi miniseries could connect with a whole new group of readers to a new series, a new historical period, and a new format." said Anderson. "I'm excited that Dark Horse has chosen to try this program with The Golden Age of the Sith."

The story takes place five millennia before Luke Skywalker was born and 1,000 years before the previously released Tales of the Jedi series. It was a time when the dark power of the Sith held unquestioning rule over the galaxy. For those black-souled, corrupt Jedi, it was a golden age. For the rest of the galaxy, it was a nightmare.
