A new four-issue Aliens miniseries by fan-favorite creator Mark Schultz ushers in the start of a new age for the horror sci-fi title-- an age that will bring the Apocalypse of mankind closer than ever before.

Alecto Throop is a deep-space rescue specialist cut from the same cloth as famed Alien antagonist Ellen Ripley; she's as tough and smart as she is beautiful, and gut instincts and decisive actions have kept her from losing her life on more than one dangerous mission. But her instincts weren't enough to warn her away from her latest assignment of tracking down a missing scientist who was studying an ancient race at the time of his disappearance. What she discovers when she finds the wayward Dr. Keitel would chill anyone to the bone. But Throop can't turn her back on her assignment, nor can she ignore the evidence suggesting that humankind's encounters with the dreaded Alien race are part of a greater design than we might realize.

"Aliens: Apocalypse offers me the chance to develop and investigate some of the elements that most attract me to the Aliens universe," said Schultz. "-- the sense of Lovecraftian scope and cosmic horror, endless black pits of space and unimaginably vast sweeps of time, the realization that mankind is just another tiny mote in the Greater Universal Scheme. But contact with this awful majesty may bring redemption . . ."

Aliens: Apocalypse -- Destroying Angels is an all-new miniseries, heralding the beginning of the Apocalypse timeline for the Dark Horse Aliens line. Written by acclaimed creator Mark Schultz (SubHuman, Xenozoic Tales), and featuring the stunning art of Doug Wheatley, the first full-color issue of Destroying Angels will be on sale at comics shops everywhere January 27 for $2.95.
