What could be scarier than being stalked by the Predator? How about being stalked by the Predator underwater, in the murky depths of the ocean off the coast of Chile?

Comics readers are in for a double treat as two of the industry's top talents, Mark Schultz and Gene Colan, team up on an all-new Predator story, Hell & Hot Water.

This is a first-time collaboration for Eisner Award-winner Schultz and horror-comics legend Colan. It's also the first time that either of these two comics greats have turned their talents toward the Predator. The resulting three-issue miniseries is the stuff comics classics are made of.

Schultz's tale takes Predator to new territory in a deep-sea setting. "I said I would [take on the project] if I could take Predator in a direction that it hadn't gone before," said Schultz. "I had learned to scuba dive the year before, and I wanted to apply some of my love for that to the story. Luckily for me, both Dark Horse and Twentieth Century Fox liked the concept."

Colan's mastery of the horror genre, most notably his standard-setting work on The Tomb of Dracula, made him the perfect choice to illustrate the series. Colan brings a cinematic feel to the pages, matching Schultz' storytelling style. "I don't know of any writer other than Mark who really writes in a cinematic way," said the comics veteran, who celebrates fifty years in the business with this series. "This was really my first opportunity to illustrate a story that is written in that style, which was really a joy for me to do. That's how I view everything that I do -- as if it were up there on the screen."

Predator: Hell & Hot Water will retail for $2.95. Color covers are by Schultz. Look for the first issue of this three-part color miniseries to hit the racks in April.
