Dark Horse Comics and Lucas Books respectfully request your presence at the wedding of the millennium, as Luke Skywalker--son of Anakin "Darth Vader" Skywalker and a woman whose identity has yet to be confirmed--joins in holy matrimony Mara Jade, a former Imperial assassin of unknown parentage. Luke and Mara first met while fighting on opposite ends of an intergalactic war, but the young lovers eventually overcame their differences, and now anticipate growing old together in wedded bliss.

The ceremony will be held in an upcoming comics miniseries, Star Wars: Union, hosted by Dark Horse Comics.

"From the moment that Luke Skywalker and Mara Jade met in Timothy Zahn's Heir to the Empire novel, the handwriting was on the wall for most folks," said writer Michael A. Stackpole, who will be officiating the ceremony. "They complemented each other and despite the twists and turns their lives took through the Bantam Star Wars novels, their destinies were clearly intertwined. It was my pleasure to be able to script the final act, depicting the events surrounding their wedding, which show once again the classic Star Wars universe and the heroics that have made it beloved by millions down through the years."

Please leave all intergalactic political differences at the door when Luke and Mara begin their journey into togetherness this November with the series Star Wars: Union. While all possible security precautions will be taken to protect the solemnity of the occasion, the very nature of the event suggests that some turmoil might be expected, so please be cautious should you choose to attend. The festivities begin November 10, and will take place in four monthly installments. We ask, instead of bringing gifts, that guests please continue reading Star Wars comics from Dark Horse.
