Image Comics' superstar writer/artist Tony Daniel (F5, Adrenalynn, The Tenth) is moving his creative enterprises to Dark Horse starting in January 2001 with the release of an enigmatic and compelling tale of conspiracy, murder, and genetic warfare: Silke.

Sandra Silke is a CIA agent who's as tough and intelligent as she is gorgeous, and she's dedicated to the work she thinks is making the world a better place to live. Her dedication shows when she -- along with a group of five other agents -- volunteers to undergo gene therapy testing that's supposed to help find a combatant against the chemical agents of war. When the testing goes awry and the researchers discover strange changes occurring in the bodies of the test subjects, the agency decides to kill not only the test program, but its altered subjects as well. Only Sandra escapes alive, and soon finds herself wrapped in a deadly conspiracy -- framed for the murder of her fellow agents and on the run from a mysterious predator!

"It's no secret that Dark Horse has always been committed to publishing creators' personal visions, which allows us to continue to attract top-selling talent like Tony Daniel," said Dark Horse Editor Mike Hansen. "Dark Horse is happy to give Tony an environment in which he can create his comics without creative restrictions, and that means with Silke we'll be getting his best work yet!"

In addition to debuting his creator-owned series Silke at Dark Horse in January, Tony Daniel will also be providing alternate covers for four hot Dark Horse comics that month: Star Wars: Obi-Wan and Qui-Gon Jinn -- Last Stand on Ord Mantell, Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Jonathan, Witchblade/Aliens/Darkness/Predator: Mindhunter, and SpyBoy, as well as an alternate cover for the first issue of Silke. The first issue of Silke, created, written and drawn by Tony Daniel, will be available for $2.99 at your local comics retailer starting January 10, 2001.
