After starring in his very own episode ("Superstar") of the cult TV hit Buffy the Vampire Slayer, quirky young character Jonathan brings his peculiar brand of self-immortalizing fantasy to Dark Horse in January. Buffy TV writer Jane Espenson, who penned the "Superstar" episode, has dreamed up a thrilling one-shot adventure based on the heroic life and sexy escapades of Jonathan -- a troubled character with a good heart and an out-of-control imagination.

The Russian vampire mafia is on the move in Sunnydale, and only one person stands between the imported bloodsuckers and the innocents of Sunnydale -- Jonathan! That's right, folks, these blood-thirsty, enormously powerful Bolsheviks are too much for even Buffy to handle, but with a little help from a certain dashing, heroic, studly, masculine, rockstar heartthrob -- did we mention that he's dating twin Swedish supermodels? Well, he is! -- maybe Buffy and her friends will find their way out of this terrible mess after all!

"Jonathan is a fascinating character -- and, I suspect, a writer at heart," said Espenson. "Overwhelmed by the world, he keeps looking for a quick way to solve his problems. In the episode `Superstar,' he created a custom-fit world for himself. This comic book allowed me the luxury of a further exploration of that world."

Buffy the Vampire Slayer: Jonathan is a hilarious, action-packed, single-issue comic book, written by Jane Espenson and featuring art by Cliff Richards and Joe Pimentel. As an added bonus, former Image Comics superstar (there's that word again!) Tony Daniel is featured as the cover artist for Jonathan. Look for BTVS: Jonathan, on sale January 3 for $2.99.
