Following the success of last yearÂ’s B.P.R.D. oneshots, Mike MignolaÂ’s Bureau for Paranormal Research and Defense launches into the first of a series of miniseries. Drawn by Guy Davis, the artist of last yearÂ’s B.P.R.D.: Dark Waters, and written by Mignola himself, B.P.R.D.: A Plague of Frogs returns to the roots of the characters in this first issue of the five-issue series.

Plague of Frogs pits the B.P.R.D. against a giant fungus that escapes from its containment in a maximum-security laboratory. The fungus mutates its victims, and now the B.P.R.D. must confront the frog-men they faced ten years ago in the original Hellboy series, Seed of Destruction!

“I look at this story as a new beginning for the B.P.R.D. Things are set in motion here that will take years to resolve,” commented writer Mike Mignola. “And, of course, it was a thrill to work with Guy Davis. I've been a fan of his work for years and I believe he is probably the best 'creature guy' in the business.”

“Mike has an incredible imagination and sense of design, his artwork is truly inspiring,” remarked artist Guy Davis. “It’s great fun to be working with him on this series and getting to try my hand at all the characters and monsters that make up the world of Hellboy and the B.P.R.D.”

DonÂ’t miss the cast of characters from the B.P.R.D. in the Hellboy movie coming this April!
