In the future, everything is creepy. Dark Horse is set to bring you tales of this eerie future world beginning this September with Lone #1. From Stuart Moore and Jerome Opeña, Lone charts the post-apocalyptic adventures of a solitary gunman and the two teens who need his help. Zombies, mutants, and robots round out Lone’s stable of adversaries, as Moore and Opeña deliver the high-octane adventure stories that define Dark Horse’s Rocket Comics imprint.

In LoneÂ’s world, the town of Desolation has been overrun with zombies. Wave after wave of undead are attacking and DesolationÂ’s embattled residents fear it will never stop. Teen-aged gunfighter Luke and her brother Mark are dispatched to find Lone, a legendary gunslinger who could be their only hope. Once Lone enters the fray, the zombie-laden carnage is elevated to new levels.

Featuring the storytelling talents of former Marvel Knights editor Stuart Moore and the stunning, imaginative art of newcomer Jerome Opeña, Lone makes the Wild West a lot weirder. Stuart Moore calls Lone, "a wild mixture of ‘Mad Max, Unforgiven’ and ‘Planet of the Apes.’ It's got six-shooters, zombies, mutants, cyborgs, and lots of action -- and despite all that, it just might make you think!"

Moore’s Lone teammate, Jerome Opeña, has already been nominated for the Russ Manning Most Talented Newcomer Award for his art on Lone. "Jerome's stuff is amazing -- from the tiniest facial tics to the biggest, grandest, seediest settings," Moore relates. "His nomination for the Russ Manning award is richly deserved. He keeps making me look good!"

Lone has also drawn advance praise from The Fourth Rail.com. "Moore has got all the ingredients of a successful story, including creepy and misunderstood technology, mutants, and a shady, tough protagonist who has humanity that many of the survivors (of this genre) lack."

Lone #1 is available September 17 for the retail price of $2.99.
