Frank Miller has created some of his most compelling characters yet for his next
Sin City series.
Sin City: That Yellow Bastard is the crime-noir story of a veteran detective named Hartigan, a man whose well-earned retirement is only one eight-hour shift away. But there's a drooling lunatic running loose in Sin City. He's the coddled son of a powerful and corrupt senator named Roark. He's also a sex offender and a killer, and he's all but above what passes for the law in Sin City. Most importantly, he's got the fate of a missing little girl in his blood-stained hands. Roark's son is a loose end that Hartigan just can't walk away from. Hartigan's pursuit of Roark's son could put everything he has ever worked for in jeopardy. It might even get him killed.
"Hartigan is a ruthlessly honest cop," said Sin City creator Frank Miller, "and as a result he finds himself up against the entire city."
A prominent theme in Sin City: That Yellow Bastard is the nature of power. Miller explores how authority can be used and abused, through the machinations of Senator Roark, the killer's father.
"Roark is totally evil, and totally powerful," said Miller.
Sin City: That Yellow Bastard is a six-issue series written and drawn by Frank Miller. The first issue will hit the comics shops on February 6, 1996.
