In July of 1999, Dark Horse Comics introduced a new imprint--Dark Horse Maverick--aimed at focusing the creative spotlight on its diverse and incredibly cool selection of creator-owned comics titles. This summer, in honor of a landmark year that saw the release of all-new graphic treasures by comics greats such as Frank Miller, P. Craig Russell, Paul Chadwick, and Mike Mignola, Dark Horse Maverick celebrates its one-year anniversary with the launch of the new annual anthology, Dark Horse Maverick 2000.

Dark Horse Maverick 2000 is a 48-page collection featuring stories by some of the best and brightest creators working in the field of comic-book storytelling. Included in this stunning black-and-white anthology are new stories from Sin City creator Frank Miller, an original Concrete short story by Paul Chadwick, the autobiographical short, "Norway," by Stan Sakai, Jason Pearson's long-awaited return to Body Bags, and short stories by up-and-coming greats Scott Morse, Dylan Horrocks, and 1999 Ignatz Award winner Brian Ralph.

"I love anthologies," said Dark Horse Maverick editor Diana Schutz, "because they allow me, both as editor and reader, to go to some very interesting places, creatively! Editing a monthly anthology, however, would make me crazy -- like Dark Horse Presents editor Randy Stradley! -- so I'm opting for an annual 48-page extravaganza instead. I'm so excited by this one that I've already begun planning next year's!"

Dark Horse Maverick 2000 will be available from your neighborhood comics retailer, starting July 19, for $3.95. And be sure to check out the feature on Dark Horse Maverick 2000 -- and a fun interview with Diana! -- on the Dark Horse website through the month of May!
