Drawing on Your Nightmares isn't just our motto, it's our Halloween special! This October, Dark Horse celebrates Halloween with a special issue celebrating a few standout titles in its burgeoning line all wrapped up in a Ben Templesmith cover. Featuring a Goon story by Eric Powell, a story from Brett Matthews and Sean Phillips previewing our new Buffy spinoff, Tales of the Vampires, and a Cal McDonald story by Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith, Drawing on Your Nightmares is the first seasonal offering by the new Horror clearinghouse, Dark Horse Comics.

Following up their smash-hit series Criminal Macabre, Steve Niles and Ben Templesmith present Cal McDonald's latest case, in which the foul-mouthed private dick rubs elbows with ghostly gangsters in Las Vegas. With a special appearance by the ghost of Bugsy Siegel, Cal once again gets in over his head with the undead.

The Goon creator Eric Powell introduces us to the even seedier side of life in his zombie-infested burg, featuring the Goon's eight-armed, hard-luck poker buddy Spider. Powell is thrilled about The Goon's participation in the project. "Gambling and horror... how could The Goon not fit this book? I'm proud to be included in any project that not only frightens but promotes a potentially life-shattering vice."

Brett Matthews, writer from the Angel TV show, and artist Sean Phillips (Sleeper), give us a twisted taste of the upcoming Tales of the Vampires, the new series of comics written by Joss Whedon and the writers from the Buffy-verse. Horror impresario and Dark Horse editor Scott Allie calls Drawing on your Nightmares, "Tales from the Crypt for the new century, with three of Dark Horse's best horror titles and no filler."

Drawing on Your Nightmares is available October 1 for a retail price of $2.99.
