DC Comics and Dark Horse Comics have come together to publish SUPERMAN VS. ALIENS, a three-issue Prestige miniseries. Written and pencilled by SUPERMAN's Dan Jurgens, the series pits the ultimate hero against the ultimate horror in the furthest reaches of space, on the domed city of Argo. Vaguely Kryptonian in nature, Superman believes Argo and its inhabitants may be a surviving portion of his lost home planet. "Superman has a code against killing," said Jurgens. "Now he's confronted with a dilemma: Does he kill these Alien creatures, or let them destroy what may be the last remnants of his long lost home? He has to examine something deep within himself, in terms of trying to win this war." Jurgens is joined on the project by finisher Kevin Nowlan, an award-winning artist himself whose credits include Dark Horse's ALIENS and DC's BATMAN: SWORD OF AZRAEL. "Kevin brings a very special sensibility to this project that I think is just perfect," said Jurgens. "Kevin knows how to do slime and grit and texture. He does 'creepy' reeeeal gooood!" SUPERMAN VS. ALIENS is being edited by Mike Carlin, Superman editor and Executive Editor-DC Universe, who sums up the project: "I've enjoyed the ALIEN movies...I've enjoyed the ALIEN comics...unfortunately for Superman I don't think he's going to enjoy _his_ encounter with the Aliens as much as the rest of us will!" SUPERMAN VS. ALIENS is a three-issue miniseries with a cover price of $4.95. Issue #1 ships from Dark Horse on May 23, 1995.
