In early 1996, Dark Horse Comics' popular monthly comic-book series
Barb Wire will blitz movie theaters across the country as a feature film. The motion picture is generating an enormous frenzy already, which is unusual at this point; it is now at least six months in advance of the film's release. Besides the
Barb Wire property itself, one of the reasons for the excitement is the star of
Barb Wire. The title character, an arsenal-carrying, motorcycle-riding female bounty-hunter, is portrayed by the stunning Pamela Anderson, familiar for years to television audiences from her recent stints on
Home Improvement and
Baywatch.Anderson appeared in Barb Wire's skintight leathers, ready for action and photo-ops at the Cannes Film Festival in May. "I blow away bodies without remorse," the Baywatch beauty said, smiling wickedly.
News of the Barb Wire motion picture graced the pages of Daily Variety, The Hollywood Reporter, Star Magazine, and the National Enquirer, in addition to a May feature article and cover appearance in TV Guide. She has also recently appeared on Hard Copy to promote the film.
