Over the last several years, classic comic-strip artist Burne Hogarth and his collaborator, producer-director-screenwriter Harry Hurwitz, had been working on a new comics series, Morphos the Shapechanger. Hogarth and Hurwitz had created the first installment of a four-issue miniseries, which will, sadly, never be completed due to both of their recent untimely deaths.

On July 3, 1996, Dark Horse will release Morphos the Shapechanger. The graphic album will include the first, completed, full-color chapter as well as the subsequent chapters. The text is profusely illustrated with preliminary artwork by Hogarth.

"Burne Hogarth's final work is a story of hope that ends with a promise for a better tomorrow," said Dark Horse vice president of publishing, David Scroggy. "I only wish we could see what that complete vision would have been."

Burne Hogarth is best known for his work in the 1940's and `50s on the classic "Tarzan" comic strip, as well as his series of instructional art books.
