"The Barb Wire movie has been getting attention for months now, from trades like Daily Variety and The Hollywood Reporter to TV Guide and `Entertainment Tonight'," said editor Randy Stradley. "And with a star as photogenic as Pamela on the covers, these comics adaptations ought to attract their own share of attention as well."
Barb Wire tells the story of Barb Kopetski, a sometime barkeep and sometime manhunter, who is trying to stay alive in the tough town of Steel Harbor during the second American civil war of 2017. Her saloon, the Hammerhead bar, is the favorite watering hole for soldiers on both sides of the conflict. Barb is a leather-clad, motorcycle-riding, arsenal-carrying bounty hunter.
Both the Barb Wire Movie Special and the Barb Wire Magazine Special are written by Sara Byam and are illustrated by Gordon Purcell. Both titles contain 48 pages, in color and black-and-white respectively, and both feature Pamela Anderson photo covers; the magazine edition will carry a full-color poster of Anderson in her Barb Wire costume. Both titles will ship to comics shops on March 27, 1996.
