This summer, Twentieth Century Fox will introduce an animated film event unlike any ever seen. TITAN A.E. is the first animated feature film of its kind, combining first-rate, celebrity voice talent and groundbreaking computer imagery to create a world-class animated feature film targeting older teen audiences and all discriminating fans of animation. To celebrate the release and help set the stage for this fantastic film, Dark Horse Comics and Twentieth Century Fox Licensing and Merchandising have teamed up to unveil the events leading up to the sensational start of TITAN A.E. in the form of a three-issue comic book miniseries, written by Eisner Award-winning editor Scott Allie and featuring the dynamic art of comics superstar Al Rio (artist of Alan Moore's voodoo).

In the not-too-distant future, humanity can no longer believe we are alone in the universe, considering the hundred of alien species who have made themselves known over the previous centuries. Despite the occasional skirmish between alien factions, there is little evidence of interracial hostility...until a human military practice gone awry results in the death of a Drej soldier. The Drej, a powerful and driven race made of pure energy, embark on an all-out war with humanity, intent on destroying the threat of our pervasive race -- and the planet we call home. It's up to two soldiers -- tough-as-nails Captain Ruth Kimball and her wry partner Korso -- to subvert the advances of the Drej and protect a top-secret project from being discovered by the destructive forces of Earth's newest enemy.

"In the movie TITAN A.E. you see a young guy whose mother is nowhere to be seen, and whose father set him up to save an endangered species called mankind," said Allie. "Writing this comic, which takes place years earlier, I got to tell not only the story of man's confrontation with the ruthless Drej, but also the story of when that mother and father first laid eyes on one another. We've got some murderous aliens to keep everyone on their toes, and a pretty great story to boot."
