Paul Chadwick is best known for his contemplative and adventurous sci-fi creation Concrete, and he's worked for many years honing and strengthening that award-winning title into one of the most respected creator-owned series in the comics industry today. But now Chadwick has another itch to scratch. In the last year, he began work on an all-new series, inspired by the Silver-Age adventures he grew up reading, and in March, Dark Horse debuts the first issue of his latest series -- The World Below.

Fifteen years ago, from a hole in the ground in rural Washington, a tiny flying machine emerged and Charles Hoy found it. From all appearances, this small vehicle wasn't built with any existing human technology, and Hoy made a fortune selling that technology to the first eager customer. Now with his fortunes dwindling and his curiosity peaked with more than a decade of questioning, Hoy has hired a tag-team of adventurers to go back with him to where it all began, in hopes that they'll come back with a better idea of what waits for them in The World Below.

"I'm in a new mood. Less cerebral. More adventurous, capricious," said Chadwick from his Washington studio. "I'm aiming for the kind of strangeness that makes people smile . . . in a context of tight, complete stories. I want people to think: what new weirdness this month?"

The World Below is the all-new monthly series debuting March 31 from Dark Horse. Written and penciled by Chadwick, The World Below features the inking talents of Ron Randall, and is colored by Elizabeth Chadwick. Issue one of this fun, fast-paced series features 24 full-color pages of inspired storytelling, and retails for $2.50.
