For nearly half a century, Edgar Rice Burroughs' final work, his last, unfinished Tarzan novel, languished in a vault, hidden from generations of Tarzan fans. This unfinished novel became the stuff of legend until early 1995 when Dark Horse Comics released a four-part, illustrated pulp-magazine format series that at last presented the Burroughs novel, as finished by noted horror writer Joe R. Lansdale (author of Batman: The Engines of Doom).

In December 1995, Dark Horse Comics will release the entire novel, Tarzan: The Lost Adventure, in a single volume for the very first time. This spectacular limited-edition hardcover assembles the artistic talents of such veteran artists as Thomas Yeates, Charles Vess, Gary Gianni, and Michael Kaluta. Painter Dean Williams has created a new cover for this historic volume, which will feature a gold foil-stamped plate, signed by Danton Burroughs, the grandson of Edgar Rice Burroughs and the executor of the ERB estate. This plate will also be rubber-stamped with Burroughs' signature stamp.

"A book like this is a once-in-a-lifetime find," said Danton Burroughs. "This is the very last original Tarzan tale in existence. And the presentation my grandfather's work has been given in this limited edition makes it a doubly attractive item."

This special hardcover collection of Tarzan: The Lost Adventure will be limited to 1,000 copies and will ship to comics shops on December 5, 1995. A mass-market hardcover will be available in March 1996.
