Frank (a.k.a. Madman) is on a quest to uncover the hidden meanings of his current batch of bizarre and oddly prophetic dreams. And while he's searching for an address given to him by the sad and mysterious woman in those dreams, he meets Gordie (ahem, The Jammer), who finds the odd man in the white jumpsuit and his quest for the meaning behind his dreams far too compelling to leave at the strange house they find together.
What unfolds when the two find their way inside is a whacked-out adventure full of talking bugs, MC Escher mazes, flying pen rides, and more freaky fun-house shenanigans than you can shake a stick at.
"Working with Mike Allred and Bernie Mireault is like living in a cardboard box with a senile bobcat and a frog with tourette's syndrome," said editor Jamie S. Rich, a few inches shy of the curb himself. "It's claustrophobic, painful, and loud. But, to be honest, that's the most action I have seen in a long time, so I don't mind."
Madman/The Jam is a trip. It's also a two-issue mini-series featuring the work of Mike Allred (Red Rocket 7), Bernie Mireault (The Jam, Grendel), and the coloring talents of Laura Allred (Red Rocket 7, Madman). The first issue hits comic shops July 22, and is available for $2.95.
