Fans who can’t get enough of Felicia Day’s multiple Streamy award-winning webseries The Guild are in luck. After learning the origin story of Cyd Sherman (aka Codex) in 2010’s three-issue miniseries The Guild, Dark Horse Comics delves back into the past to deliver five one-shots examining the lives of series regulars and guildies Zaboo, Vork, Bladezz, Clara and Tinkerballa in the time period between The Guild comic and the series' first season. The first of these issues will look in on Herman Holden, the man who would one day become the extremely frugal and overly organized guild leader for the Knights of Good: Vork. Co-written by Day and Jeff Lewis, who portrays Vork on the webseries, keep an eye out for The Guild’s comic return in 2011.
“The next series of Guild comics will be 5-issues, each featuring one of the Guild characters,” Felicia Day said. “The series will be starting with Vork. I enjoyed writing Codex's descent into MMOs with the three-issue arc so much, that I wanted to give each of the core characters their due. This seemed like the perfect way to do it, as five stand-alone issues for five great characters. I'm very excited to share stories for the characters that we haven't learned from the web show, there is rich and twisted mythology there that is just waiting to be explored!”
