Win a chance to get killed in the 2nd Story Arc of The Strain!
We're making preparations for the coming infestation, storing food, comics and weapons. The Strain #1 is on its way, infecting comic shops on Dec. 14th. And here's a little contest to get you excited for the comics from Guillermo del Toro, Chuck Hogan, David Lapham and Mike Huddleston.
Last week we asked our visitors to share their survival plans with us for a chance to win an appearance in the next Strain story arc. Below is the first finalist for the Contest: Reed Beebe
Be sure to read each of the entries, voting will begin at the end of the week.
I would survive the vampire plague by following the fourteen simple rules outlined in “THE STRAIN ROCKS” acrostic below:
1. Tough people never cry!
2. Head for the hills! (that is, get away from urban areas as fast you can)
3. Eat as often as you can! (you never know where your next meal is coming from, and you need your strength)
4. Stock up on alcohol! (for medicinal purposes, of course)
5. Terrible things happen to the unprepared!
6. Run, don’t walk!
7. Ammunition is important – horde as much as you can find!
8. Imagine every horrible scenario that could occur and what you can do to avoid it!
9. Never open your door to strangers, even if they are attractive!
10. Remember your fondest memories, as often as you can, and never give up!
11. Opportunities should always be taken!
12. Close quarter fighting with the undead should be avoided!
13. Keep your life simple!
14. Save one bullet for yourself, and remember that it beats the alternative!
Regardless of what your plan is, having a good mnemonic trick to remember everything will be helpful. Stress can cause memory loss, and a simple acrostic like the one above could be very helpful in both remembering your survival plan and teaching it to others. Good luck!
