Win a chance to get killed in the 2nd Story Arc of The Strain!

We're making preparations for the coming infestation, storing food, comics and weapons. The Strain #1 is on its way, infecting comic shops on Dec. 14th. And here's a little contest to get you excited for the comics from Guillermo del Toro, Chuck Hogan, David Lapham and Mike Huddleston.

Last week we asked our visitors to share their survival plans with us for a chance to win an appearance in the next Strain story arc. Below is the second finalist for the Contest: MikeR

Be sure to read each of the entries, voting will begin at the end of the week.

The Vampires weaknesses are Silver and Sunlight!

Forget about Holy Water and the nonsense of garlic. My wife and I have learned of this the hard way. Even our Pitt Bull dog has Silver-plated teeth!! After several encounters with these bloodsuckers, the protective canine has killed twelve Vampires without a single scratch! My wife alone has painted her fingernails with hard Silver nail polish and carries with her Silver Nun Chucks; as for myself a Barbaric Sword, which I obtained from a weapons booth at last year’s New York Comic-Con!
Wherever you are hiding, I suggest you gather as many Silver items as possible during the earliest of the day throughout your travels.

We have taken refuge safely and fortunately somewhere in Midtown, underneath the basement of a Convenience/Pharmacy Store. We have enough to eat and enough medical supplies to last us for some time…

We have barricaded all the entrances and windows with Silverware of all sorts. From Silver-plated dishes, spoons, forks and even hundreds of Silver coins were placed nearly everywhere. It seems to frighten them and with enough potential to also kill them, if used correctly!!

Since these Vampires of the Dark hate sunlight, I managed to get a hold of two tanning bed machines from my wife’s favorite Tanning Salon. The UV lights are as powerful as the sun. I’ve placed and connected them near our bedside just in case they manage to break in and find us…we can hide quickly inside of both of them and wait until daylight arrives.

If you have family somewhere, find them and contact them with great caution. I’ve contacted my parents and suggested that they take refuge in a Self-Storage or on my father’s fishing boat and head far into the ocean until once again we are reunited.

Keep a well-timed watch on your wrist at all times and keep track of every hour of your life. ‘An extra hour during the day, keeps the Monster’s away.’
