JAHAN CROSS
Our lead character. His cover is that he’s a Diplomatic Envoy, but he reports directly to Armand Isard, head of Imperial Intelligence. He believes that the Empire offers the only real alternative to galactic chaos. Charming or ruthless as the situation requires. Highly skilled with both weapons and fists.
IN-GA 44
A Human Replica Droid (HRD), but without the synthiskin or hair covering her frame that would make her seem human. Outfitted with weapons in her forearms and jets in her calves. Cross’s companion and aide.
ARMAND YSARD
Head of Imperial Intelligence, and Cross’s mentor as well as his superior. Can be cold and, despite what Cross thinks, has no great sense of loyalty to those under him. His agents— including Cross—are pawns to be used.
ARLESSI QUON
A Sluissi—a rare alien working for the Empire. Genius inventor and tinkerer, his loyalty is first to his craft and then to those who employ him. Likes Cross in so much as he likes any human.
DAH’LIS STARK
A Nautolon, the widow Stark was the second wife of industrialist Iaco Stark. Dah’lis was a dancer when she met Iaco; beautiful and sensual, and uses it to her advantage. Knows more than perhaps she should.
MILOSH MUHRLEIN
Imperial Colonel, head of Imperial Research Center 61. Served with the Army of the Republic during the Clone Wars, and later with the Imperial Army. Stiff, arrogant, and superior. Has always used his position to benefit himself—as he feels is his right due to his family’s position and wealth.
EMESH NAR
Assistant to Ambassador Blains Vorlin. Haughty, mercurial. Ready to be servile to those to whom he must toady, and sneering to those he perceives as beneath him.
LT. MYRSK
Served in the Clone Wars on the losing side. Given the Empire’s xenophobia and his own history, he fled to the Corporate Sector at the end of the conflict. Fell in with the CorSec Security Forces and has risen in the ranks, but lieutenant is as high as he is likely to go. Disgruntled nature. Dislikes Imperials. Dislikes almost everybody.
