Information about the Heartbleed SSL bug was released to the public on Monday, April 7th. This bug allows hackers to easily view secure data such as passwords on affected web sites.
What is the Heartbleed bug? You can learn more about it here:
By the end of April 7th, we had installed SSL software patches on all impacted Dark Horse websites, which included digital.darkhorse.com and tfaw.com. As of 9:30am on April 10th we had also installed new SSL certificates. We see no evidence that our systems were compromised in any way, but with an abundance of caution we're advising all customers to update their DHD account passwords as soon as possible.
The Dark Horse Comics website (www.darkhorse.com) does not use SSL, so it was unaffected by this problem.
Does this affect other sites I use? Definitely. This Mashable article lists some of the more popular sites and their current status related to the Heartbleed bug:
