THE WEEK IN REVIEW

Baltimore: The Infernal Train #3

"Definitely pick up this comic and enjoy the adventure." - Comic Bastards

"The Infernal Train #3 was an excellent ending to a top-notch installment in the Baltimore series." - All Comic

Catalyst Comix #5

"With an abundance of superhero  comics on the market it’s a challenge for any to stand out, but with the offbeat nature of the writing, the gorgeous cartooning artwork and the 3-stories-1-issue format Catalyst Comix definitely makes itself worth checking out." - Eat Geek Play

"Overall, I definitely recommend this issue like I have with every other issue in the series. They just keep doing a great job, even when there's the occasional stumble in storytelling. I'm still surprised that Dark Horse is only charging $2.99 for this comic - it could easily be $3.99 given the number and consistent quality of the stories. It's basically a steal for $2.99, so just buy it. Pick up the back issues if you haven't been following them, too. They're all worth it." - Red Shirt Crew

Grindhouse: Doors Open at Midnight #2

"De Campi and Peterson forget the typical confinements of the genre and leave them in the dust. They embrace Grindhouse to its fullest and pull off one of the most enjoyable comics Ive read all year. I positively cannot wait to see what they do next." - Bloody Disgusting

"Peterson's art, with colors by Nolan Woodard, completes the package. All that ridiculous violence and mayhem that De Campi writes is brought to bloody life in a spectacular fashion. Peterson draws the gore with just the right amount of detail, as characters a ripped to pieces and devoured. The stories heroine is so kick-ass, she leaves a trail of gorgeous destruction that will suck you into every panel. Seriously, blood bathes are rarely this much fun, so do yourself a solid and buy this comic book." - IGN

Michael Avon Oeming’s The Victories #6

"The Victories #6 is a great read — creative, insightful, and beautifully strange. Go grab this thing today." - Unleash the Fanboy

"The Victories continues to be a must for me each week, it's a damn good book presenting a lot of damn good ideas damn well." - Comic Bastards

The Occultist #2

"This was a solid issue that really just shows the stress that being the Occultist has had on Rob and what he is willing to do to relieve himself of it." - Analog Addiction

"Rob Bailey fits the mold: good-meaning guy hindered by hormones. This series is very easy to jump into, and I actually appreciate that I got to forgo the whole introductory phase." - Comics Bulletin

The Star Wars #3

"The Star Wars #3 is not as engaging as the previous two issues in the series, but for Star Wars fans, there is enough to satisfy the urge." - Culture Mass

"I really can’t read this book without comparing it to the film on some level or another.  I believe this issue is the furthest we have seen from anything recognizable in the film.  These scenes and plot lines were either heavily reworked or dropped entirely.  The only exception being the droids in the desert.  However, this book is exciting enough and strong enough to enjoy entirely on it’s own." - EU Cantina
