Mike Richardson on Motion Comics @ Comic Book Resources
Dark Horse President Mike Richardson took some time during WonderCon to sit down with Comic Book Resources news editor Kiel Phegley and talk about the upcoming motion comics that will be featured on Geek and Sundry.
"I think any opportunity to get our comics out to a new audience is an opportunity we want to take advantage of," Richardson told CBR. "YouTube certainly has that reach. With Felicia's name, we're hoping a lot of people will take the time to look at these little episodes. They're very engaging. I just went over, yesterday, some of the final work on the individual projects. They're fun to watch, entertaining and very different from what people would expect from motion comics up to this point."
Mike Richardson at Jet Pack Comics!
Mike Richardson is headed to Jet Pack Comics in Rochester, NH on Saturday for a special Dark Horse Presents release party! We asked retailers across the country to post to our blog "why your store deserves a day with Mike Richardson" and the results were incredible. Jetpack's ability to rally their customers and staff for what was, frankly, an overwhelming amount of photos and comments was simply unmatched. Their level of participation in this contest truly embodies what is so unique about the comics specialty market: community.

B.P.R.D. Hell on Earth: The Long Death #2
"Eventually the focus is going to have to swing away and the B.P.R.D. is going to have to tackle the big picture once again if they don't want to see the Earth entirely over run. But for the time being, I am really enjoying these quieter, more personal stories." - Comics Bulletin
"I was pleasantly surprised by this title, and I am quite confident that I will be reading as much BPRD as I can get my hands on while I await the next issue in the Hell On Earth storyline. Whether you've been reading Mignola's work since day one, or you're are a complete newbie like me, you'll want to follow this series." - Bloody Disgusting
"Wood and Donaldson work great together, and when you think about the concept of an environmental disaster story, that’s a hard sell but they totally make it work. I can’t wait to see more of “The Massive." - iFanboy
"I’ve said before that Dark Horse Presents would be the only comic I was buying if I was only buying one comic because of the quality and variety in each issue. But what makes this installment special? Well, we see another installment of Steve Niles’ Criminal Macabre story, as well as the finale to the amazing Brian Wood’s The Massive, but the main reason that I’m suggesting this is the mighty return of Evan Dorkin’s House of Fun, which if I’m not mistaken means that Milk and Cheese will be along for the ride. This issue is bound to remind you why you love comics. Diversity, originality, humor, intrigue, all of these are available within the pages of Dark Horse Presents." - Geeks of Doom
"If I had $15, I’d gleefully hand it over to my local comic shop this week for three things. The first, Dark Horse Presents #10 (Dark Horse, $7.99), has a first I think for anywhere – Evan Dorkin and Brian Wood sharing space in the same book. Dorkin’s got new strips from his “House of Fun” series and Wood, along with Kristian Donaldson, is finishing up the firstThe Massive story. Definitely worth the price tag." - Robot 6 / Comic Book Resources
"This issue changed everything for me. Creator, writer, and artist Eric Powell has woven an amazing tale of how a mother shapes the lives of their children. For good and for bad. This tale would be profound even if the current political climate wasn't so spiteful towards women's health and rights. The title character is barely even in the story but it doesn't matter. This is about one woman and her journey to be more than she could ever have hoped for and the adversity she faced. You don't need to know anything about The Goon to enjoy this issue. This is just a wonderfully written story." - Technorati
"You made a fool of me, Eric Powell. I assumed that The Goon was nothing but action and laughs. Now suddenly you give me issue #38 with all of its sorrow and feeling. I would be genuinely upset if this wasn’t such a great issue. Though it’s probably not the best Goon comic for new fans to start with, The Goon #38 is proof that Eric Powell is more than a one trick pony." - Geeks of Doom
"If you have something you want to say about how death affects you, there will be a greater chance that it will also affect - and connect - with someone else, the way The Goon #38 did with me; and I imagine how it will with most of the other readers who hopefully pick the issue up. Not every book will be as successful at dealing with the discussion of death, but at the very least, we’ll have a much richer reading experience across the board." - MTV Geek
"You'll be hard pressed to find a quality horror comic like "Ragemoor" on the shelves in the modern era. If you enjoy black and white movies from many decades ago or equally atmospheric comics, then this issue is for you. "Ragemoor" makes time feel still and eerie while reading it, creating a slow burn and with relentless, nasty action. This is the start of a tale that will have you checking to see if your windows are locked on cold, dark, and rainy nights." - Comic Book Resources
"For any horror fan this is a MUST buy, and for anyone in the mood for a fun story with a creepy edge to it, this was made with love (and blood) for you! After just the first issue, I am already disappointed that this is only a four-issue limited series. Seriously, do yourself a favor and pick this up!!!" - Geeks of Doom
Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi #2
"The second issue of the series maintains an amazingly high artistic quality…The setup for the main body of the story is solid, and the characters make me want to learn more. There is enough mystery in the helmeted stranger, and in the brief appearance of another mysterious, lonely figure on one of the moons of Tython, to make me eager for the next installment." - Fandom Post
"Overall, good stuff. You could just pick up Dawn of the Jedi here if you want, but no, go back and get issue #1 if you haven’t already, since I’m guessing some of the shadow man’s story, unknown to our main characters here, is going to be important later." - Big Shiny Robot
