THE WEEK IN REVIEW

Abe Sapien #3: Dark and Terrible

"Ah…feel that? That’s the breath of fresh air that is Abe Spain #3 Dark & Terrible, “Terrible” being defiantly the antithesis when describing this book!" - iFanboy

"Month in and month out, you cant go wrong with anything that has Mike Mignolas name on it. The people he works with always do a phenomenal job and the stories are always insane, deep and some of the best in all of comics. Next time youre at your local comic shop, check them out. You will not be disappointed." - Read Comic Books

Empowered Special #4: Animal Style

"She's Emp, and she's one of the best current comic book supercharacters. It's a very subversive form of feminism and sexual warfare that totally and unashamedly gets unreconstructed heterosexual males to buy into these fetishistic images and then gives them a lesson in sexual politics while doing so." - NY Post

"The thing that is absolutely brilliant about the Empowered series is that while it makes fun of the typical cheesecake female comic hero, it also relies on the trope… but then also completely decimates the trope at the same time. It’s like a f***ing magic trick! Who the hell doesn’t like magic?" - Comic Bastards

Michael Avon Oeming’s The Victories #2

"What has happened to this world and the way normal people and heroes cope is captivating storytelling. The highest compliment I can pay to any form of storytelling is this: I have no idea whats going to happen next and I cant wait to find out." - Bloody Disgusting

"It's fun to see Oeming branch out on his own again, and even though I'm excited about where this title is going, I can't help but feel a little nervous that the scope of what he's going for might be hard to manage. But I want to believe. And so I'll keep reading." - Unleash the Fanboy

Mister X: Eviction #2

"Motter’s visuals alone make this worth reading. His world is dark and sinister, yet features wildly vibrant coloring, like watching a 1950s vision of the future through a cracked mirror. This is a great comic for fans of Brubaker’s noir work." - Newsarama

"Everything about this series/franchise pulls at my inner being and takes my breath away. Each issue is like falling in love and when it ends, it’s like a terrible break up. But as long as this series exists, I will subjugate myself to its emotional abuse because it’s worth it." - Comic Bastards

Star Wars: Dark Times—Fire Carrier #5

"Star Wars: Dark Times – Fire Carrier #5 is an excellent release that should be in the hands of every fanboy or fangirl in the galaxy." - Unleash the Fanboy

"There is a depth of emotion conveyed at critical points in the story, something not easy to do. But it is done well in Star Wars: Dark Times"Fire Carrier." - Culture Mass
