ON SALE THIS WEEK IN REVIEWS

Alabaster: Wolves #3

"As supernaturally driven as this series is, the story remains very real. The script is raw and powerful, the characters are dynamic, with brilliant artwork to tie it all together. Kiernan’s new tale is sure to become a classic story of good vs. evil, with everything in between." - Bloody Disgusting

"Go buy this series. It is most definitely worth skipping a trip to the snack bar for some nachos. The art and writing are superb and meld well together for this mini-series." - Geeks of Doom

B.P.R.D. Hell on Earth: The Devil’s Engine #2

"Even though the lead characters in this story hardly seem sympathetic, they must be as the peril they face escalates with each passing moment. It's scary stuff, which is consistent for the Hellboy world. The art is subtle and effective." - Technorati

"Fun, fast paced, and a cliff hanger to boot! If you’re not sold on following the “Hell on Earth” event, I don’t know what kind of comics you’re reading! Get in there!" - Bloody Disgusting

Baltimore: Dr. Leskovar’s Remedy #1

"This isn’t Hollywood horror; this is real terror with actual consequences attached to it. And Baltimore might be the only badass equipped to deal with it." - Complex Magazine

"The crusty vampire hunter returns, and this series, enjoyable every time, is not so much about the emotional foibles of the complex inner lives of vampires as it is about a cold-hearted amputee who really likes to kill a lot of them. I implore you once again to jump on here. It will feel just fine." - iFanboy

Dark Horse Presents #13

"While I tend to be more of a fan of tights and capes in my comics, I do enjoy variety in what I read. Make no doubt; "Dark Horse Presents" #13 has plenty of variety." - Comic Book Resources

"Dark Horse Presents #13 showcases a preview of 9 creator owned stories, all of very different genres and styles. From the vampiric horror story Criminal Macabre to novella profile: a cross story, supernatural hero The Occultist to war-era hero The Black Beetle and even an Aliens tie-in story, the net is cast far and wide regarding the talent on offer." - Comic Book Nerds Are Hot

Ragemoor #4

"The fourth issue is a fitting finish to the series. It nicely ties everything up and even offers a disturbing conclusion that proves the residence will live on. Strnad and Corben did an excellent job conveying moods of fear, death and discomfort. It's a great series that's definitely worth a look." - Omnicomic

"What made this a downright visual feast was Richard Corben’s creepy & disturbing illustrations, nothing makes the look of shadows more affective than the use of black & white. I won’t spoil the ending, but it has a kind of Twilight Zone/Tales From The Crypt feeling that really fits this series." - Comics the Gathering

Reset #3

"Peter Bagge's work is polarizing. Readers either love his work or are turned off by it. This mini-series is typical of his work focusing on fractured characters and their dysfunctional relationships mixed with a lot of rage.

This series has all of those elements but it, also, has real emotions and relationships. The characters are lonely and scared. The protagonist is overwhelmed with regret and those feelings derail a scientific experiment. Well, maybe they do as the mystery is slow to unfold. 8 out of 10." - Technorati

"The book can be wordy at times, but it doesn’t feel like you’re wading through dialogue, rather you know your getting a great amount of story for your money. It’s natural, well written and great to read. Peter Bagge has me sold." - Comic Book Nerds Are Hot

Star Wars: Darth Vader and the Ghost Prison #2

"Guys, I’m not joking. This is a Star Wars comic book. Continuing everything that I loved about last issue, Star Wars: Darth Vader and the Ghost Prison #2 ups the ante with further ties to the established events of the films and a more prominent role for Vader himself." - Joey Esposito, IGN

"So, they have now officially hooked me. I've loved the story so far, but that last panel had my geek blood boiling. Having Vader watch an old hologram of himself from his Jedi days is not something we often see. And, what does this have to do with the overall plot? It left me with so many questions, and I anxiously await for part 3 when it comes out next month." - Fanboy Comics

Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi—Force Storm #5

"This has been an exciting series, introducing us to a new chapter of history in the Star Wars galaxy, and this final issue leaves us with the promise of more to come." - EU Cantina

"The final installment in the Force Storm arc has been released and the suspense has been cranked to 11!" - Roqoo Depot
