THE WEEK IN REVIEW

Bad Blood #1

"It's frankly stunning work, equally at home detailing suburban mundanity as it is with the more fantastical, horror beats. The artwork is reason enough to buy this book but when combined with Maberry's excellent script this book is unmissable." - Big Comic Page

"A brilliant start for this vampire series, with it being one of the most unique additions to the vampire genre. I for one loved this issue and can't wait for the next and would highly recommend giving it a try." - Unleash the Fanboy

Baltimore: Chapel of Bones #1

"Chapel of Bones has been a highly anticipated installment in the saga of Baltimore and the first issue did not disappoint. Everyone involved is at the top of their game to create a masterfully cohesive book that works on every level. For fans of the character, this is an arc you dont want to miss." - All Comic

"Though the pace is deliberate, fans of the series will dig the reveal of the Chapel of Bones. 2014 is shaping up to be an intense year for Baltimore." - Bloody Disgusting

Catalyst Comix #7

"The story for this issue is great. I mean the writers for the stories are just having a field day with all the stuff they are doing. I will say the "Agents of Change" writer had a field day. It is something that you will not understand until you read it but trust me. You will be glad I didn't ruin. Although, I usually don't. Overall, they are all great and you will like them." - Unleash the Fanboy

Grindhouse: Doors Open at Midnight #4

"This is the type of book your parents would have had to buy in some scum ridden porno dungeon, but Dark Horse is brave enough to have it on the stands every week. This is a damn good thing, so we best all embrace it. God knows I have." - Bloody Disgusting

"Next month we have a sliver of exploitation and titillation called 'Bride of Blood.' Sounds utterly tawdry, perverted, redundant, retroactive and lame to me. But personally speaking, I'm idiotically, enthusiastically and contrarily looking forward to reading it." - Geeked Out Nation

Juice Squeezers #1

"This book hits the all-ages idea right on target. As much as there is here for the kids, Lapham throws in enough to keep the adults on board. And he draws one hell of a nasty looking giant dung beetle. Yeeesh." - Comics Bulletin

"They're an elite squad that has been recruited and trained by adults who themselves were once Juice Squeezers. They're ass-kicking action heroes fighting giant bugs in their underground tunnels because they're still small enough to fit down there. Juice Squeezers is a blast!" - Comic Spectrum

Michael Avon Oeming’s The Victories #8

"Arguably leaving the reader in the PERFECT spot for a 3rd issue out of a 5 issue arc, The Victories #8 is another example of why Oeming's work is always worth a look. His take on the creation of supers is as good of a mix of mythology and sci-fi as you'll get."  - Unleash the Fanboy

"This team book continues to flaunt how to have stories and characters do things that matter. There are consequences that propel the story into somewhere new and unpredictable. And they didnt need several mini-series and tie-in books to get the job done. Others should take note of that achievement. Team book fans should continue with "The Victories" as they get it done convincingly month in and month out." - Bloody Disgusting

Terminator Salvation: The Final Battle #2

"Terminator Salvation: The Last Battle is definitely a winner here in the infancy of the story. We are two issues in and the action is moving at a good pace with 10 whole issues to go. A solid foundation has been built and the sky is the limit to how good this arc can be. They have my interest. Let the battle begin."  -Comic Bastards

"Terminator Salvation: The Final Battle #2 is successful as it leaves me hoping for some time displacement, in order to make the days between releases shorter. Recommended." - Unleash the Fanboy

The Occultist #4

"For a new series and pseudo-supernatural hero, The Occultist is one you must read that this year produced." - Geeked Out Nation

"It's the best issue of the series and really left me with a ton of excitement. I'll be sad to read the last issue next month, but at the same time I've never been more excited to read the conclusion." - Comic Bastards

The Star Wars #0

"If you're loving The Star Wars, are a big Star Wars fan, or like to see early concept art and designs, this is one you might want to check out. It's not chocked full of detail, but it is a solid companion piece to the hit miniseries." - Comic Book Therapy

"The force of others is indeed strong with The Star Wars #0, and if you're aching to know more about this franchise than this is perfectly suited for you. Recommended." - Unleash the Fanboy

The True Lives of the Fabulous Killjoys #6

"If there is only one downside to “The True Lives Of The Fabulous Killjoys” it's there are enough ideas contained within pages to have kept this story going for much, much longer. Not many comics finish with me wanting even more, but this one did." - Multiversity Comics

"Killjoys was a fantastic miniseries that evokes a world unlike anything else that hit the stands in 2013. The team of Way, Simon, and Cloonan have created a truly original American manga that oozes with style with every page." - Bloody Disgusting
