THE WEEK IN REVIEW
""Amala's Blade" #0 is an exceptional peek into a world fully in motion. Horton and Dialynas waste no time in packing as much fun and action into this book as they can. The foot goes down on the pedal and doesn't relent and yet everything remains crystal clear. The visual storytelling is professional and kinetic, Dialynas is a natural master at controlling panels. His fluid style of action makes this energetic story come to life in an entertaining and mesmerizing way. This issue's contents may have originally seen light in "Dark Horse Presents" but after people read this they will anxiously be awaiting the first proper issue of the series in April. This is female-led swashbuckling fun for the whole family." - CBR
"You want to know if you should buy this book? I am. Even if I have to get a digital copy, this is the kind of book I’ll go buy off the shelf to support the people that made it. I want more and if you read it, I’m betting you will too. Here’s to hoping this miniseries becomes a full series, because it really deserves it and there are so many directions to go in with the world that Horton and Dialynas have created. So many great stories could be told and there’s so much left that Dialynas could create with his art." - Comic Bastards
"It’s amazing that us fans are even surprised by this anymore, but Spike really does bring the fun with him! Gage, once again, demonstrates his talent for writing Whedon’s characters by not missing a beat with everyone’s favorite blonde, British vampire." - Fanboy Comics
"I’m told that Pearl and Nash do make their return soon. Words cannot describe how excited this makes me — I’m incredibly fond of Angel & Faith’s resident children of the corn. It should be especially interesting to see how they react to Spike, who had a short interaction with Pearl (and a shorter one with Nash) in his miniseries Spike: A Dark Place." - Paper Droids
"As befitting a second issue, there's a lot of plot development and character work going on here, but this is balanced out with plenty of action scenes, which keep the pace fast and exciting. Fun, fresh, and original " don't miss out!" - Newsarama
"The story is fast-paced and oddball, the dialogue is amusing and engaging, the mysteries are plentiful and the art is kinetic and very expressive. The superhero stuff is fun, but it's secondary to the mess Devin's getting herself in with full cognizance of it's messiness. I enjoy how quick on the uptake she is, and I also dig how far out there the Answer seems to be. It isn't THAT far, really, but he just comports himself with a casual weirdness that makes us really wonder what the heck the deal is." - Crave Online
Criminal Macabre: Final Night—The 30 Days of Night Crossover #3
"Only one more issue to go -- if I were a betting man, my money is still on McDonald to walk out alive at the end. He might be dragging his guts in a wheelbarrow behind him, and "alive" might be an abstract term for his current condition, but he's still a survivor. Unless Steve Niles has some devilish twist reserved for the end, like turning McDonald into a vampire of something like that. I wouldn't put it past him. " - Comics Bulletin
"The cliffhanger at the closing pages of Criminal Macabre/30 Days of Night: Final Night #3 will leave readers wanting more. Fans of "30 Days of Night" and "Criminal Macabre" will definitely be asking themselves, "It can't end this way, right?"" - Bloody Disgusting
"Taking team goals and interweaving them with personal motivations gives the book great emotional depth, and its story a grand scope. With fantastic characters, stunning artwork, and intricate plot design, The Massive is a comic book experience that should not be missed!" - Comic Book Bin
"With some major character development forthcoming, this series is going to be in it for the long haul. While there is still not enough focus on the mission at hand (looking for the Massive), the slow reveals of the motives of the crew members nearly makes up for it. The story in this title has taken a dramatic turn in this issue, and the upcoming “Breaker” arc should be another great addition to this already incredible series." - EGM Now / Digital Noob
Star Wars: Agent of the Empire—Hard Targets #5
"Agent Cross is a bad man, but he is very good at what he does. However what he does is not very nice. When he is around no one is safe, but we the reader know that we are in for a great ride. John Ostrander has really created his own unique corner of the GFFA, and I can’t wait for the next Jahan Cross story." - EU Cantina
"With another series of Agent of the Empire finishing up, and the ever-present story of Episode IV looming in the last page of this book, I wonder if a continuation of this story is possible. If the writers of this series can bring to life another great arc then I’ll surely be ready to get another taste of what this series has to offer." - Florida Geek Scene
Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi—The Prisoner of Bogan #3
"Fugitives and the Je’daii clash in this week’s issue of Star Wars: Dawn of the Jedi. But will the dark side triumph because good is stupid?" - Big Shiny Robot
"With a story filled with twists, turns, action, and story building, there’s a lot to enjoy inPrisoner of Bogan #3. When combined with the gorgeous artwork, it makes for an entertaining issue." - Roqoo Depot
