Announcing Michael Oeming's THE VICTORIES!
As proclaimed at the Powered by Creators panel at Emerald City Comicon, Dark Horse Comics is set to publish The Victories, a very adult superhero adventure written and drawn by Eisner Award winner Michael Avon Oeming (Powers, Takio, Rapture).
“The Victories sucked me in by taking the postmodern ‘mature readers’ superhero story to a brand-new place, which only a serious superhero fan like Mike could deliver, but which will appeal to people like me who thought the genre didn’t have much left to offer,” said editor Scott Allie. “Every few years a book comes along to push superheroes into a new place—Watchmendid it, and Powers did it. The Victories does it in a way that’ll make people uncomfortable. Not for the faint of heart.”

"When the blood runs free, and panties need frequent changing, you know that Dark Horse's Creepy Comics is near. This horror magazine offers both republished classics and brand new tales from the best in horror today. The throwback style combined with the wicked black and white art make Creepy a must for horror heads like us." - Bloody Disgusting
"Every issue of Creepy is a Pandora's box of chocolates. Whimsically unrelenting, brutally honest, and frightfully electric, you really never know what you're going to get. And dammit if it isn't nice to open and find out! This holds true for this quarter's issue. Five shorts float above a seemingly calm surface, where far below in the murky uninhabitable depths many surprises hungrily await." - Go Suck a Comic
Criminal Macabre: Die, Die, My Darling
"Criminal Macabre: Die, Die, My Darling! may just be the perfect comic. It has made me sappy and bathetic in my praises, as I don't possess the language necessary to sing its absolute merits. Read it. I want to watch you jumping up and down repeatedly while clapping your hands in glee." - Comics Bulletin
"The story is palatable, the writing smart, and we get to see Cal out of his element. However, even in death his characterization doesn’t change much. It does do a good job of introducing new readers to Criminal Macabre, and in that it’s a success." - Daily Blam
