As a new work week begins its oft-times oppressing five-day cycle, a new collection of Dark Horse links arrives to welcome you into this new and terrifying world known to some as "The Week of October 4 through 8!"

Enough dramatics! I'm Publicity Coordinator Jim Gibbons, let's delve into some links!

Terminator: 1984
The team of Zack Whedon and Andy MacDonald, who recently brought us Terminator: 2029, returned last week to continue their tale with Terminator: 1984. The duo's new installment in their Terminator tale won them some praise with critics online, like…

io9.com, who said…
"All in all, Terminator: 1984 is a quirky extended universe tale. The Terminator franchise is built around the inevitability of a robot uprising, so effectively gleaning new stories from this framework is no small feat. Recommended for those who like their killbots pre-CGI."

Comic Vine was very complimentary, as well…
"I'm hooked. I want to see where this goes… This issues gives enough of a tease to make me want to return for the next part of the story."

ComicAttack.net also enjoyed the issue…
"I love this new chapter in Whedon and MacDonald’s reinvention of the Terminator world… Whedon does a great job writing this tale… The art by MacDonald is also great… Terminator: 1984 is a great read and comes out on stands this week. Enjoy!"
Teasing the upcoming issue, Comics Alliance posted an amazingly fun pin-up that Brandon Graham did for issue #2.It's a must see.

100% Man
Last week, ICV2 ran a brief story running down an exciting new campaign for our Robert E. Howard line of comics. We're really excited to be shining a spotlight on Conan, Kull and the REH heroes being featured in the upcoming Savage Sword—from action and adventure to swords, sorcery and violence, these guys are the cream of the crop! Thankfully, reading piles and piles of Conan and Kull comics has allowed us to provide you all with a series of tips on exactly how to be as manly as those two signature heroes. Check out http://twitter.com/#!/man_tips for more information on how to be 100% Man!

Dave Stewart
If you weren't already familiar with world-class colorist Dave Stewart after his multiple Eisner award wins and his work on Hellboy, B.P.R.D., Conan, Umbrella Academy, DC: The New Frontier and Detective Comics and many more, Comics Alliance has posted a great interview with Mr. Stewart they called "an effort to shed some light on this integral but vastly under appreciated aspect of comics." It's a good read featuring info from an amazing creator, t's definitely worth your while!

Beasts of Burden
Evan Dorkin and Jill Thompson's Beasts of Burden has received an abundance of praise since it was published, and last week was no exception. Comics Worth Reading raved about the book…
"I love animal comics, but I am too squeamish for horror, so I wasn't sure how I'd react to this blend. I should have had more faith in the skills of writer Evan Dorkin and artist Jill Thompson to create stories worth reading… Thompson's painted art is better than ever, as she captures animal behavior in realistic yet expressive form... It's a dense book, particularly appropriate for the season, with lots to look at and ponder. It's very creepy, and quite scary, at times, not for the young, but the art is so lovely I could focus on that at the darkest moments... I'm also impressed that it's such a handsome hardcover at such a reasonable price. The ending promises more to come, which I'd love to see."

…and ComicBookRresources.com's Robot 6 also had oodles of nice things to say…
"I want an ongoing series so that Dorkin and Thompson can explain all of this fully. More than that, I want a whole set of Beasts of Burden hardcovers that I can share with my son once he’s old enough to read them without crying."

Don't forget, Jill Thompson's up for a Spike Scream Award for her work on Beasts. Go log a vote for her here! Don't forget to vote for Dark Horse creators Mike Mignola and Fábio Moon while you're at it!

Finally, Jill Thompson's upcoming book Scary Godmother is an equally perfect, but more kid-friendly, Halloween read. If you've got a little one, check out this wonderful preview of the book on Wired's Geek Dad blog and then preorder your copy today!
