"The first time I seen Camilla's art, I was sixteen. My Mom and I had adventured down to Vancouver together and we happened to walk into one of her favorite stores, El Kartel. There was an original giant helmetgirl on the wall. I had never stood and gawked at a piece of art before in my life, but that's what I did! Sensory overload!
At that point in time, my Mom and I had zero in common, But there was something about Camilla's art that made us closer. Something alive and beautiful.
It has been five years since, and my Mom and I have watched Camilla's art grow and progress in unimaginable ways! Her dreamy scenes so incredibly ornate, and delicately put together filled with raw emotion.
I look forward to everything she puts out there, as she does it all with such love. She spends her time making things for the people who love her work. She will sit and draw & sign t-shirts or prints for hours, even when her hand will cramp! She is the most kind, caring, approachable and dedicated artist I have ever witnessed.
Young, old, Artist or not..You can find something in Camilla's Artwork that provokes something amazing in your heart, beyond the point of inspiration. If I am ever in a creative slump, or my eyes need some loving..I go look at anything and everything this wonderful woman has made!
I am really looking forward to Femina and Fauna: The Art of Camilla D'errico. I know it will encapsule all of her brilliance in one spot. I cannot wait to own my own copy!
So much love to you Camilla. Thanks for impacting me, my Mom & so many others."
