NAME: Caitlín R. Kiernan
A SENTENCE ABOUT WHAT COMICS-RELATED WORK YOU DO AND/OR ARE KNOWN FOR:
Writer for DC/Vertigo’s The Dreaming, The Girl Who Would Be Death, and Bast: Eternity Game, and creator/writer for Dark Horse’s Alabaster.
What are your favorite working tools?
My 1941 Quiet Deluxe Royal typewriter and a good fountain pen.
What talent would you most like to have?
I wouldn’t mind being better at mathematics.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
It’s a tie between having been published three times in the Journal of Vertebrate Paleontology and having written my ninth novel, The Drowning Girl: A Memoir.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Provence-Alpes-Côte d’Azur, France, somewhere along the coast, maybe Marseille.
What is it that you most dislike?
Cold weather and willful ignorance.
Who are your heroes (fiction or non)?
I’m not good with heroes. I have far too many, as if heroes are an addiction for me.
