MAY 2
NAME: Kel McDonald
A SENTENCE ABOUT WHAT COMICS-RELATED WORK YOU DO AND/OR ARE KNOWN FOR:
Most recently I’m the creator of Misfits of Avalon for Dark Horse Comics. I have done the webcomic Sorcery 101 for nine years, as well as organized the independently published anthology Cautionary Fables and Fairy Tales.
What are your favorite working tools?
Manga Studio for penciling and a Winsor & Newton Series 7 brush for inking.
What talent would you most like to have?
I wish I could read faster a lot of the time.
What do you consider your greatest achievement?
Well, a year from now my greatest achievement will be having finished wrapping up a ten-year-long comic, heh. But currently it’s having seen a fair chunk of the US and experienced the different cultures we have.
If you could live anywhere, where would it be?
Don’t really know, which probably explains why I have moved around a lot. I like best places where it is easy to walk to things.
What is it that you most dislike?
Unreliability is something I find very frustrating.
Who are your heroes (fiction or non)?
There are so many strong, smart women in my family that it is hard to choose. It seems like every time I talk to one of my cousins, they are doing and achieving so much. I find it inspiring, and it makes me want to keep up, in a sense.
