Unless you've been living in a cardboard box in a cave on the moon for the past month, you (Yes, you! The savvy comics reader and music aficionado to whom I'm speaking!) have undoubtedly heard about the upcoming comic epic Orchid, which comes from the mind of musical genius Tom Morello and is illustrated by the supremely talented artist Scott Hepburn!

Following Orchid, a sixteen-year-old street prostitute who's equal parts Joan of Arc and Suicide Girl, and further described by Mr. Morello as "the Spartacus of whores," this series is a saga sure to be enjoyed and celebrated. Am I biased? Maybe. Am I 100 percent correct? Definitely.

A bit more on the book before we get to the point…

"My goal for Orchid was that it would combine the epic story arc of stories like Lord of the Rings, Star Wars, Stephen King’s The Stand or Tomb, but inject it with class consciousness," Morello relayed in an interview with Rolling Stone. "That’s something I’ve always thought was missing from those stories, where it's always, 'Let’s get the king back on the throne,' 'Let’s get the princess back in the castle,' you know? And all these poor serfs and peasants are getting mowed down on the battlefield to try to get that king back where he belongs. That element always sort of rang hollow with me, and that has been corrected in the story of Orchid."
