With story arcs featuring fan-favorite characters like Astarion, Shadowheart, Karlach, and more in their first comics appearance!

Dark Horse Comics and Hasbro’s Wizards of the Coast announce the new ongoing series, Baldur’s Gate 3, featuring fan-favorite characters like Astarion, Shadowheart, Karlach, and more. The first six-issue story arc will follow beloved vampire spawn Astarion Ancunín as he hunts a killer in Waterdeep, with future arcs revolving around Karlach, Wyll, Shadowheart, Gale, and Lae’zel, with appearances other Baldur’s Gate 3 characters.

Astarion’s story arc will be written by award-winning author Alyssa Wong (Star Wars: Doctor Aphra, Deadpool), penciled by Vincenzo Carratù (Hulk: Smash Everything, Dracula: Blood Hunt), inked by Elisabetta D’Amico (Star Wars: Hyperspace Stories—The Bad Batch, Kill All Immortals II), colored by Valentina Taddeo (Werewolf by Night), and lettered by Buddy Beaudoin (The Flash).

There will be five cover variants available, with art by Gerald Parel, Scott Fischer, Angela Wu, and Tyler Walpole, and one blank character creation cover.

About Baldur’s Gate III #1-6:

Astarion Ancunín is enjoying his freedom after escaping the clutches of Cazador Szarr. But when Waterdeep is rocked by a spree of gruesome ritual murders, Astarion must hunt down the killer before he becomes their next victim!

The next twelve issues (#7-18), following Karlach into the Nine Hells, will be written by Becky Cloonan (Somna, Four Gathered on Christmas Eve) and illustrated by Francesco Scimonelli (Dick Tracy). Stay tuned for more details next year!
