Never mind that the city's underworld is controlled a humanoid cephalopod*, a half-skeletal freak with an army of zombies, and a disembodied head in a box.Never mind that the public they're sworn to protect looks upon them with fear and suspicion.
Never mind that one of their number has gone missing and another has turned to a life of free-lance revenge.
Never mind all that, because the real problem is that there's a madman bent on destroying time -- stopping the linear, sequential progression of events and plunging the world into temporal chaos. But it's all in a night's work for The Nevermen -- the greatest heroes who never existed.
Springing from the minds and pens of writer Philip Amara and artist Guy Davis, the world of The Nevermen is a heady blend of superheroic action and crime noir sensibilities peopled with some of the most intriguing characters ever seen in comics.
Amara himself summed it up as, "Dick Tracy meets H. P. Lovecraft, or Bladerunner meets L. A. Confidential," but you can feel free to assign your own analogical capsule description after you've read the series.
The Nevermen #1 hits stores May 3. Never say you were never warned.
