Hap and Eiko are at Lake Torrens, Australia to trace the latest sighting of the strange creature, Egos, which has disappeared along with Eiko's father. When this organism grown from a living biochip suddenly appears, they try to establish communication with it. These proceedings are followed with interest by the mysterious Black Echo, whose agents are spying on Hap and Eiko!
