The collaboration of Roy Thomas and Barry Windsor-Smith produced some of the finest graphic fiction of the 1970s, and the final days of this team produced the most memorable Conan stories of their creative partnership. The Chronicles of Conan Volume 4 includes their immortal adaptation of Robert E. Howard's "Red Nails," the premiere appearance of Red Sonja, and the first of many Conan tales illustrated by Eisner Award Hall of Fame inductee John Buscema.
