May 25, 2018: Celebrating Free Comic Book Day with Gail Simone

Connecting with fans and celebrating comics: acclaimed comics writer Gail Simone talks about her experiences with annual Free Comic Book Day festivities. This year, Free Comic Book Day fell on May 5, and Dark Horse staff visited some of our own local comic shops to see the action, and to see the Dark Horse FCBD comics in the wild! This year, the two Dark Horse FCBD comics offered were Overwatch: Zarya Searching/Black Hammer: The Quantum Age, and--for all ages--The Legend of Korra: Lost Pets/ARMS: A Call to Arms. If you missed them on Free Comic Book Day, fear not: they are both available on Dark Horse Digital now, still free! Local comic shops Things From Another World Portland and Things From Another World Milwaukie featured... "I recommend this book for everyone. If you are not familiar with either of these characters don't worry " Zub and Simone do a great job of making this book for everyone. I cannot wait to see what is next for our two heroes.” - Comix I Read "Conan Red Sonja #1 is like a creamy chocolate delight surrounding a peanut butter center. Seriously. Two great writers, a fantastic artist and colorist team to bring a book that simply works (and will probably make me gain a pound or two just from comparing this book to a peanut butter cup).” - Major Spoilers  "Readers should look forward to the development of strong female characters in Zub's future work. "King Conan the Conqueror #1 is a book that will probably only be enjoyed by those who are already big fans of the character Conan the Barbarian.
